Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Al Fassak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Al Fassak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Chan!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fassak shoots in and gets a takedown into Chan's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fassak wants to control from the top but Chan keeps moving.

Chan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fassak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fassak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Fassak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fassak closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Chan did well to prevent Fassak getting side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Chan tries to roll over but Fassak keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chan moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Chan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Chan lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fassak!
Fassak wants to control but Chan is having none of it.

Fassak holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Chan tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Fassak is squirming around, avoiding Chan's attempts to control the action.

Fassak tries to lock up and control but Chan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Chan wants to get back to his feet but Fassak is holding on tight.
Fassak is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Chan moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Fassak has worked his arm free - good work by Fassak!
Fassak is trying to buck Chan off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Chan stands up and beckons Fassak to his feet.
Fassak keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Chan tries for a takedown but Fassak sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Fassak has managed to clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fassak manages to break the clinch.

Fassak closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Chan shoots and misses

and Fassak counters by moving into the clinch.
Chan fails to pull guard.
Fassak stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Fassak gets control of Chan's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fassak will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Fassak is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Fassak is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Chan is trying to pull guard but Fassak has him pressed against the cage.
Al Fassak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Chan.
Fassak gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Jeff Chan has been cut.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Fassak.
Chan is trying to pull guard but Fassak has him pressed against the cage.

Fassak gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Chan wants to sweep but Fassak has passed to side control!
Fassak advances to full mount.
Fassak trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Fassak throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Fassak controlling the position easily from mount.
Chan tries to lock up and control but Fassak gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The referee warns Chan that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fassak pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.

Fassak has control of Chan's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Chan regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Fassak gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Fassak wants to control but Chan is keeping him busy.
You can see the frustration on Chan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Fassak tries to advance to mount but can't.
A lull in the action here.

Fassak looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Chan wants to control but Fassak postures up.

Fassak passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Chan!
Fassak wants to control the pace but Chan is squirming around nicely.

Fassak has hold of Chan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Chan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The cut man is working on Jeff Chan's cut.
That's time! Fassak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Fassak forces Chan back against the cage and clinches.
Chan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Chan tries to pull guard but Fassak holds him up against the cage and eventually Chan drops back down to his feet.

Fassak shoots for a double leg takedown but Chan sprawls well. He's pushed Fassak's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jeff Chan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fassak moves into the clinch.
Fassak with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Chan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Fassak pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Al Fassak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Chan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fassak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Chan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fassak stands and throws Chan's legs to the side, diving into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fassak thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Chan parries the strikes from Fassak easily there. Fassak is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Chan to escape.

Chan stops Fassak from passing to mount.

Fassak wants to take a breather but Chan is having none of it.
Fassak is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Chan!

Fassak is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Chan gets tackled into the cage by Fassak. Fassak maintains the clinch.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chan jumps guard but Fassak turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Jeff Chan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
With the fighters up against the cage, Chan throws an elbow but misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fassak lands an elbow inside.

And that's the end of the fight!
Al Fassak showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Fassak has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
