The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Max lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Impaler has a takedown stuffed.
Impaler throws a right hand that misses
and Max counters with a head kick. That will keep Impaler thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Max counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Max presses Impaler against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Max struggles to land a body shot inside as Impaler controls his hands.
Max misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Impaler is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Max with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Impaler to score with a decent uppercut.

Impaler shoots in and drives through. Max sprawls well.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Impaler takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Max is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Impaler can't fight it off and eventually Max manages to take the fight to the floor. Impaler looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Max throws a front kick aimed at Impaler's knee but Impaler avoids it well.

Impaler tries to score a power double leg takedown but Max sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Impaler somewhat.
Impaler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Max moves away.

The fighters circling - Impaler throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Max looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Impaler!

Max postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Impaler looks a forlorn figure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Max has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
