Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rich Dael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darth Vader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vader is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Imperial March. Darth Vader is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Darth Vader!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dael leaves Vader with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Vader doesn't manage to clinch there - Dael circles away.
No luck for Vader with that takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vader.
Rich Dael has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darth Vader.
Dael swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Vader clinches with his opponent.
Vader tries to pull guard but Dael holds him up against the cage and eventually Vader drops back down to his feet.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Vader looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Dael passes into half guard.
Dael content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Dael prevents Vader from improving his position.
Dael perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Vader is looking for a sweep. Dael is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Vader makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vader.
Vader working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Dael has passed into half guard!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vader moves into full guard.

Vader had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dael defends it easily.
Vader working for a triangle but Dael defends it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vader looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dael pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vader is keeping the position for now.
Dael won't allow Vader to sweep him here.

Vader working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dael doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dael manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Vader is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Dael has his hands clasped together but Vader extends an breaks Dael's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Vader.
