Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheng Jen Kuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Noble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sheng Jen Kuo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tim Noble!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kuo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kuo showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kuo prevents Noble from improving his position.

Kuo decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Noble shoots in looking for a takedown but Kuo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Noble's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Kuo does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kuo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Noble but Noble pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kuo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Noble was covering up waiting for the punch and Kuo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Kuo gets to his feet. Noble looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Noble closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Noble breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Noble tries to clinch but Kuo moves out of range.
Kuo fails with a takedown attempt.
A left and a right from Noble both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Sheng Jen Kuo has been cut.
Kuo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Noble.
Noble lands with a nice body kick.

and Kuo moves into the clinch.
Sheng Jen Kuo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Noble.

Noble pushes Kuo back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

With the fighters up against the cage, Kuo throws an elbow but misses.
Noble tries for a takedown but Kuo manages to get underhooks.

Kuo turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Kuo is staying tight to Noble's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Kuo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Kuo gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Noble is refusing to be controlled, as Kuo sits in half guard.
Well, if Kuo is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Noble bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Kuo takes the fight into the clinch.
Kuo is trying to pull guard but Noble turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Noble tries for a takedown but Kuo manages to get underhooks.
Kuo goes for a takedown attempt but Noble pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Noble misses with a takedown attempt - Kuo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kuo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Noble as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sheng Jen Kuo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Noble tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Kuo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Noble wants to clinch but Kuo slips to the side

and Kuo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Noble won't be happy with that.
Kuo tries to score with some ground and pound. Noble controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Noble is looking to reverse the position.
Kuo tries to advance to mount but can't.
Kuo working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Kuo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Noble to his feet.

Noble is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kuo decides to stand back up. Kuo steps back and let's Noble get back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kuo.

Kuo forces Noble back against the cage and clinches.
Kuo is trying to push Noble away but Noble has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Noble stalling in the clinch but Kuo improves position.
Kuo can't get the takedown.

Kuo jumps into guard, dragging Noble to the mat.
Noble trying to control but Kuo is working from the bottom.
Noble prevents Kuo from getting back to his feet.

Kuo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kuo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Kuo wants to stand up but Noble is controlling him.
Noble looking to pass the guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tim Noble hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kuo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Noble as he avoids it easily.
A head kick misses from Kuo.
Kuo tries to clinch there but Noble circles away.

Noble moves into the clinch successfully.

Kuo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Noble tries to clinch but Kuo is having none of it.
Sheng Jen Kuo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A lull in the action here.

Kuo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Noble, who protects the arm well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Noble tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kuo takes a little break here. Noble wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Noble shoots in but no luck this time.
A shot to the liver by Noble. Beautiful body shot.

Kuo darts in and clinches Noble up against the cage.
Kuo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Noble smiles and moves away.
Noble looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kuo is fending him off so far but Noble persists. Nope, Kuo circles away and we're back to standing.
Kuo scores with a head kick.


It looks like Tim Noble has been cut.
Kuo pivots, looking for a leg kick but Noble is out of range and Kuo settles back down.
Noble shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kuo defends it nicely.
Sheng Jen Kuo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Noble.
Noble takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kuo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Noble as he avoids it easily.

and Kuo counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Kuo has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Noble is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kuo has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Noble regains guard immediately.
Noble doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Kuo pushes down on Noble's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kuo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Kuo tries to pass to full mount but Noble defends it.

Kuo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sheng Jen Kuo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kuo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Noble wants to control but Kuo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Noble can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kuo is nestled in close to Noble, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Noble tries to kick Kuo off but Kuo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Kuo is controlling the pace.
Noble wants to get back to full guard but Kuo has mounted him!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kuo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Kuo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Sheng Jen Kuo showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kuo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
