Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JD Repooc (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyrese Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, JD Repooc!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyrese Banks!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Repooc throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Banks was covering up waiting for the punch and Repooc finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Repooc has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Banks is working an open guard so Repooc takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Banks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Repooc's waist but Repooc gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Banks off to one side.
Repooc tries to clinch up.

Repooc bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Banks is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Repooc's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Banks had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Repooc defends it easily.

Banks looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Repooc has picked Banks up and slammed him! Banks can't keep hold of the triangle and Repooc manages to pass to side control!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Repooc get's back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Banks circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that JD Repooc will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Banks counters with a series of strikes. Repooc will be more careful next time no doubt.

Repooc shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Banks manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

JD Repooc overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Repooc stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Repooc tries to bum rush Banks with a series of wild strikes but Banks uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That was a close second round but I would say that JD Repooc will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Repooc throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Banks tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Repooc is in Banks's guard.

Banks misses with a jab, cross combination.
Repooc tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Banks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Repooc throws a right and a left that Banks avoids nicely.
A combination from Banks does no damage.

Repooc looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
JD Repooc is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Banks will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

JD Repooc showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Repooc has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
