Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
24 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Cuthbert Allgood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
13 - 12 - 1, fighting out of New York, Donny Brooke!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allgood showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brooke.
Brooke throws a front kick aimed at Allgood's knee but Allgood avoids it well.
Allgood closes the distance and clinches up with Brooke, looking for a takedown. Allgood pushes Brooke against the cage but Brooke circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Allgood takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Brooke lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Cuthbert Allgood has been cut.
Brooke takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Allgood misses with a shot to the body
and Brooke counters with an inside leg kick.
Brooke loads up on a big right hand but Allgood slips the punch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Allgood tries for a takedown but Brooke circles away easily
and Allgood takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Allgood uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brooke.
Brooke sizes up Allgood with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Brooke avoids the body shot from Allgood.
Allgood fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brooke manages to avoid it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Allgood.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cuthbert Allgood. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Allgood swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Allgood misses with a takedown attempt
and Brooke counters with an outside leg kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Allgood, as that shot connected.
Allgood on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Brooke slips a jab from Allgood.
Brooke connects with a jab.
Brooke lands a nice shot to the body.
Allgood is breathing heavily.
Allgood swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brooke cracks Allgood with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Brooke has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Allgood to stand back up!
Allgood is rocked!
Allgood leaves his chin hanging out and Brooke seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Allgood crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Donny Brooke!
