Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Serra!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darnelczyk connects with a high kick.
Serra uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Darnelczyk has time to react.
Darnelczyk takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Serra fails in his attempt to clinch.

Darnelczyk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Serra manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Darnelczyk wants to free his trapped foot but Serra is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Darnelczyk decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Serra.

Darnelczyk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Serra's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Serra has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Darnelczyk has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
You can see the frustration on Darnelczyk's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Darnelczyk rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Serra moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
