Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chad Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pritong Kandule (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kandule has chosen Adrenaline Mob - Undaunted as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kandule.
Kandule misses with a kick to the body.
A slow jab from Mendes misses its intended target.
Mendes swats away the attempt to clinch by Kandule.

Mendes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mendes lands in his opponent's guard.
Mendes works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Kandule kicks Mendes off and gets back to his feet.
Kandule wants to clinch.
Kandule tries to close the distance and clinch but Mendes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mendes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kandule was covering up waiting for the punch and Mendes finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Mendes chips away with some ground and pound.
Mendes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kandule swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kandule wants to stand and escape but Mendes is having none of it.

Kandule is trying to keep Mendes in close.

Mendes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Mendes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kandule is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kandule wants to get back to his feet but Mendes drags him back down.
Mendes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kandule on the ground.

Horrible takedown by Kandule or perhaps it was just good defense by Mendes which made him look bad.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mendes throws a low kick, looking for Kandule's leg but Kandule calmly moves out of range.

Mendes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kandule is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kandule has escaped and now he's on top!

Kandule drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mendes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kandule has Mendes in his guard.

Mendes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kandule, up you get!
Kandule throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mendes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Kandule did well to prevent Mendes getting side control.
