Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Evanildo Bechara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Shewmaker!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bechara thuds his shin into the meat of Shewmaker's side.
Shewmaker shoots in looking for a takedown. Bechara tries to sprawl out of it but Shewmaker keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bechara manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Shewmaker misses with a takedown attempt - Bechara sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Bechara - that will leave a mark!
Bechara throws a leg kick but Shewmaker moved away.
Bechara takes the fight into the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Shewmaker scores with a nice short uppercut.
Shewmaker is trying to pull guard but Bechara has him pressed against the cage.
Evanildo Bechara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Shewmaker.
Bechara pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A solid leg kick lands there for Bechara.
Evanildo Bechara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shewmaker takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like Frank Shewmaker has been cut.
Shewmaker is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bechara sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Bechara thuds a left hand into Shewmaker's body.
Bechara cracks Shewmaker with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Shewmaker looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bechara finish him?
Shewmaker is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bechara throws a monster overhand right that drops Shewmaker! Bechara follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
