PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Victree Myne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luisao Linhaeres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luisao Linhaeres told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myne tries to clinch up but Linhaeres circles away and keeps his distance.
Myne misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Linhaeres gets a takedown into half guard.

Myne is trying to control but Linhaeres passes into side control!

Linhaeres is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Myne knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Myne tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Linhaeres manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Linhaeres feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mynes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Myne bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Myne's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Linhaeres connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Myne scrambles back to his feet.

Victree Myne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luisao Linhaeres.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Linhaeres shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Myne manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Linhaeres is stalling here. Myne is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Linhaeres seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Myne has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Luisao Linhaeres showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Linhaeres cracks Myne with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Myne takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Linhaeres is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Myne flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Myne is out cold! Linhaeres holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
