PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aldo Raine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Einstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raine's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Shinedown - Diamond Eyes. On his way into the cage it seems that Aldo Raine has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Aldo Raine seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Aldo Raine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Albert Einstein !
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raine fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Einstein pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Einstein swats away the attempt to clinch by Raine.
A punch combination from Raine misses.
Raine tries to clinch up but Einstein circles away and keeps his distance.
Einstein swings for the body but Raine moves out of range.

Einstein shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Raine's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Einstein gets to his feet - Raine follows without any prompting.

Einstein manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Raine on his heels. He'll look to pass Raine's guard now, I'm sure.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Einstein makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Raine will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Einstein is looking to work some ground and pound but Raine has wrist control.

Einstein throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Einstein trying to control but Raine is working from the bottom.

Einstein won't allow Raine to get back to his feet.
Einstein lands a couple of elbows.
Raine is trying to keep Einstein in close.
Einstein has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Einstein loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Einstein passes Raine's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Einstein thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Raine's head.

Raine tries to get to full guard but Einstein has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Einstein scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Einstein wants to lay and pray for a moment but Raine keeps working.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Einstein is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Raine is refusing to be controlled, as Einstein sits in half guard.
Raine is looking to control Einstein 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Raine avoid being mounted?

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Albert Einstein has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Raine uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Einstein .
Einstein misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Einstein lands a nice leg kick that just misses Raine's sensitive parts.
Einstein throws out a loose jab but Raine uses good head movement to avoid it.
Einstein tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Raine wants to clinch.

Raine tries to sprawl but Einstein drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Raine is looking to improve his position.
Einstein looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Raine with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Einstein prevents Raine from standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Einstein is thwarting Raine's attempts to control the position.
Raine tries to kick Einstein off but Einstein keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Raine trying to hold on to Einstein 's head to control him but Einstein postures up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Raine looking for submissions off his back.
Raine is looking to escape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Einstein prevents Raine from improving his position.
Einstein throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Einstein looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Raine with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Albert Einstein dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Raine is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Einstein tries to clinch there but Raine circles away.
Raine with a lazy takedown attempt
and Einstein counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Aldo Raine has been cut.
Einstein connects with a jab.
Einstein scoring well with a low kick there.
Raine misses with a series of wild punches.
Raine's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Einstein connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Raine scrambles back to his feet.
Raine ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Raine attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Einstein scores with a shot to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Raine closes the distance looking to clinch
and Einstein counters with a stiff right hand.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Einstein slaps away a takedown attempt from Raine, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Raine tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Einstein paws at him with a jab and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Einstein cracks Raine with a big right hand and Raine goes down!


Raine is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Raine is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Einstein is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Einstein arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Raine's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Albert Einstein !
