PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glen Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Donnie Brasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis comes to the cage accompanied by Celtics. Donnie Brasco told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brasco feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Davis's calf.

Davis throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brasco was covering up waiting for the punch and Davis finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Brasco seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Donnie Brasco was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Brasco fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Davis has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Davis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brasco is trying to defend but Davis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Brasco decides to stand up, so the ref orders Davis to his feet.

Davis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Davis manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Brasco on his heels. He'll look to pass Brasco's guard now, I'm sure.

Davis drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Brasco manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Davis has Brasco in his guard.

Brasco wants to get up but he can't break Davis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Davis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brasco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Brasco has his foot on Davis's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Davis works his way back into a safe position though.
