Monster has chosen Cookie Monster Eating Cookie as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Cookie Monster has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monster throws the left hand but Virta avoids the punch easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Monster manages to capitalize on a mistake by Virta to take his back!

Virta rolls, trying to escape but Monster keeps control of the position.

Ara Virta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Monster takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

and Monster makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Monster counters with a crisp one two that drops Virta! Monster thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Virta to his feet! Virta is in big trouble!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Virta is rocked!
Monster cracks Virta with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Virta tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Monster pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Virta is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
