The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vos clinches up with Gomez and pushes him back against the cage.

Vos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gomez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vos can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gomez drops back looking for a leg! Vos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vos manages to kick Gomez off! Gomez jumps back into Vos's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Gomez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vos dives on top into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gomez has his foot on Vos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vos works his way back into a safe position though.

Gomez is looking to sinch up a triangle. Vos throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gomez's body to avoid the submission. Gomez has instead reached around Vos's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gomez arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
