Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Oak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ernesto Guevara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ernesto Guevara has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Oak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ernesto Guevara!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oak fails with a takedown attempt.
Guevara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Oak tries to avoid it but Guevara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Oak to the ground. Oak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Guevara stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Guevara wants it to stay on the feet.
Oak closes this distance looking for a takedown but Guevara circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Oak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Oak.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Guevara.
Guevara fails with the takedown

and Oak counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Oak working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Oak throws an elbow that misses. Guevara uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Oak's guard. Nice move by Guevara!

Oak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oak is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Oak wants to stand and escape but Guevara is having none of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ernesto Guevara was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Guevara scores with a decent looking hook.

Oak gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Oak utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Oak is pulling down on Guevara's head to control his posture.
Guevara stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oak swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Oak is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Guevara postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Guevara trying to control the position from guard on top but Oak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Oak is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Guevara is aware though and is defending well.

Guevara got a little sloppy there for a moment and Oak has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Guevara has managed to get both his arms back between Oak's legs - danger averted.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Guevara stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oak swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Oak is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Guevara tries to free his leg and advance position but Oak is retaining full guard.
Guevara working some strikes from top position.
Guevara stands and throws Oak's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Oak is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Guevara sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Oak defending well though.
Guevara lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Guevara wants to work for an arm triangle but Oak is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Guevara is looking to advance position but Oak won't allow it.
Guevara thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Guevara is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Oak!
Oak regains half guard.
Guevara is looking to advance position but Oak won't allow it.
Oak is staying active underneath Guevara, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Guevara working the head and body with strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oak looks like he's trying to stand up.
Guevara drops an elbow to the side of Oak's head.

Guevara is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Oak has managed to free his arm - good work.
Guevara not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Oak wants to get back to his feet.
Guevara wants to control but Oak is keeping him busy.
Oak is trying to stand.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Oak is trying to control but can't.
Guevara uses his free foot to push down on Oak's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Oak.
The referee warns Oak that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ernesto Guevara dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Guevara closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Oak did well to prevent Guevara getting side control.
Guevara wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oak keeps working.
Guevara moves into full mount! Oak won't be happy about that!
Guevara lands a heavy elbow.
Guevara cracks Oak with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


Oak is rocked!

Guevara postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Oak bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Guevara and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ernesto Guevara!
