And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam Smith!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Valeri Chadov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Doofenschmertz is trying to defend but Smith finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Smith looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Doofenschmertz with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Smith seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Smith throwing shots but Doofenschmertz is blocking nicely.
Doofenschmertz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Smith is working away from the top position though.
Smith trying to pass the guard but Doofenschmertz defending well.
Doofenschmertz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Smith looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Doofenschmertz keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Doofenschmertz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith stands up from half guard.

Smith closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Doofenschmertz jumps guard and drags Smith to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Smith forces his way into half guard.
Smith landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Smith takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Doofenschmertz is wriggling around trying to escape.
Doofenschmertz seems to have got his legs back now.
Smith landing strikes from the mount.
Doofenschmertz is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Smith loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Doofenschmertz scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Smith land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Smith stands and salutes the crowd.
