Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akisame Koetsuji!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hmingthang Ii is trying hard to land a takedown here. Koetsuji sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hmingthang Ii takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hmingthang Ii avoids the head kick by Koetsuji.
Koetsuji throws out a powerful jab.
Koetsuji lands a nice looking kick to the body. Hmingthang Ii takes a step back to recover.
Koetsuji throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hmingthang Ii sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Koetsuji rushes Hmingthang Ii and presses him up against the cage.
Hmingthang Ii is trying to push Koetsuji away but Koetsuji has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Koetsuji scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Hmingthang Ii jumps guard but Koetsuji stands there with Hmingthang Ii around his waist. Hmingthang Ii gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Hmingthang Ii is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Koetsuji is keeping busy.
Koetsuji gets control of Hmingthang Ii's arms and successfully pulls guard. Koetsuji will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Koetsuji manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hmingthang Ii manages to get himself to full guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Koetsuji in particular looking to stall.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Hmingthang Ii has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Koetsuji.
Koetsuji cracks Hmingthang Ii with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Koetsuji shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hmingthang Ii napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Koetsuji takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Koetsuji passes to full mount!
Koetsuji lands with some strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Koetsuji takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Koetsuji has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Koetsuji is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Koetsuji extends the arm and Hmingthang Ii is forced to tap!
