Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Saul Hudson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christian Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hudson comes into the arena with NightTrain blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hudson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jacobs misses the shot to the body.
Hudson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jacobs is fending him off so far but Hudson persists. Nope, Jacobs circles away and we're back to standing.
Jacobs connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Hudson shoots for a double leg takedown but Jacobs sprawls well. He's pushed Hudson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jacobs drops back looking for a leg! Hudson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hudson manages to kick Jacobs off! Jacobs jumps back into Hudson's guard.

Hudson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jacobs with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Christian Jacobs dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jacobs stalks Hudson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hudson's face. Hudson staggers backwards, shaken.

Hudson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Jacobs's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hudson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jacobs scrambles back to his feet.

Hudson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Saul Hudson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hudson looks to land a strike but Jacobs avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Jacobs has momentary wrist control but Hudson slips an elbow through the middle.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Saul Hudson.
I think Jacobs has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
