Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Julius Lovehall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Markos Merisalu!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Lovehall.


It looks like Markos Merisalu has been cut.
Merisalu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lovehall tries to avoid it but Merisalu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lovehall to the ground. Lovehall escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Merisalu should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

letting Lovehall counter with a right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lovehall scores with a hook to the body. Merisalu takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Lovehall throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Merisalu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Merisalu jumps guard and drags Lovehall to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Merisalu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Merisalu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lovehall's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Markos Merisalu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Merisalu shoots for a double leg takedown but Lovehall sprawls well. He's pushed Merisalu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Merisalu jumps guard but Lovehall turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Merisalu has eaten all the pies!
Merisalu takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lovehall scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Merisalu shoots for a takedown but Lovehall saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Merisalu has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lovehall uses from the top position.

Merisalu is stalling here. Lovehall is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Merisalu seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lovehall has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
