Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jone King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joko Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jone King has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jone King seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jone King!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joko Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Diaz manages to get to full guard.
Diaz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. King manages to get himself to full guard.
King can't keep his opponent in guard - Diaz advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Diaz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so King is just riding it out for now. Diaz eventually gives up the hold.

Diaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, King has managed to free his arm - good work.
King wants to get back to his feet.

Diaz wants to work for an arm triangle but King is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Diaz lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Diaz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Diaz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Diaz swings around for an armbar but King sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Diaz's guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Diaz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but King can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

King is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Diaz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Diaz has escaped and now he's on top!

King pushes Diaz off and gets back to his feet.

King gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Diaz to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Diaz drops back looking for a leg! King is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and King manages to kick Diaz off! Diaz jumps back into King's guard.
King wants to stand and escape but Diaz is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Diaz controls the pace.

Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Diaz content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Diaz stands and throws King's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Diaz tries for a kimura but King is defending well.
King is pushing Diaz's head away, looking to escape. Diaz manages to hold on to the position though.
Diaz advances nicely into full mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Diaz trying to control but King is having none of it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Diaz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging King to the ground. Diaz is now in King's guard.
Diaz slips nicely into half guard.

Diaz wants to work for an arm triangle but King is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Diaz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
King tries to kick Diaz off but Diaz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Diaz is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Diaz lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
King is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Diaz wants to finish this one by submission but King is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Diaz.

Diaz goes for an armbar but he's not got it… King turns into him and now he's in Diaz's guard.
King is in close to Diaz's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Diaz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Diaz frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
King is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diaz is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Diaz extends the arm and King is forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Joko Diaz!
