Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bobby Lashley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bob Sapp!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lashley leaves Sapp with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lashley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lashley drives through with a takedown into Sapp's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Lashley stops Sapp from standing up.
Sapp controls Lashley momentarily but Lashley frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lashley prevents Sapp from getting back to his feet.
Lashley keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sapp's head.
Lashley with a flurry of punches that miss.
Sapp avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sapp is on top in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lashley wants to sweep here but Sapp controlling him for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lashley has Sapp pulled in close to control his posture.
Lashley on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lashley tries to get out of the position.
Lashley lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Sapp!

Sapp prevents any damage by holding on tight.
Lashley trying to control but Sapp is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sapp tries to hold on but Lashley postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lashley lands a nice shot to the head.
Lashley avoids the attempt from Sapp to control.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sapp manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Lashley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Lashley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sapp sees it coming and defends easily.
Lashley seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Sapp wants to improve his position but Lashley is controlling well.
Lashley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lashley throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Lashley working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Sapp looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby Lashley dominated that round.
That's time! Lashley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Sapp fails to land with a series of punches.
Sapp misses with a wild combination.
Lashley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sapp fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sapp keeps the fight on the outside.

Lashley shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lashley showed some decent athleticism there.
Lashley slips a nice elbow through Sapp's hands, connecting with Sapp's forehead.
Sapp wants to control but Lashley passes into side.
Sapp is not content to let Lashley control the position.

Lashley has hold of Sapp's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sapp seems comfortable defending it but Lashley has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sapp is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sapp is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lashley couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bobby Lashley!
