Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Kiptanui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kiptanui comes into the arena with Teflon Brothers - Hoodilammas feat. Juju blaring out of the sound system. Aldo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Rough Rida. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Gabriel Kiptanui!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jose Aldo!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Aldo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kiptanui's waist but Kiptanui gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aldo off to one side.

Kiptanui clinches up with Aldo and pushes him back against the cage.
Aldo throws a punch but it's blocked by Kiptanui.

Kiptanui has hold of one of Aldo's legs. Aldo is fighting the takedown attempt but Kiptanui gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Aldo wants to stand up but Kiptanui is controlling him.

Kiptanui is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Aldo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Aldo shrugs it off.
Aldo is looking to improve his position but Kiptanui isn't that keen on the idea.

Kiptanui tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Aldo swivels and escapes.
Aldo avoids the head kick by Kiptanui.

Kiptanui jumps guard but Aldo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Aldo gets control of Kiptanui's arms and successfully pulls guard. Aldo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Aldo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kiptanui's guard.
Aldo passes Kiptanui's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kiptanui wants to sweep but Aldo has passed to side control!
Aldo advances to mount.

Aldo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kiptanui can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kiptanui is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Gabriel Kiptanui is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Aldo is hanging on to Kiptanui's back as he tries to escape.

Aldo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kiptanui but Kiptanui pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kiptanui takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kiptanui lands a leg kick that knocks Aldo off balance momentarily.
Kiptanui dodges the punch combination from Aldo.
Aldo stuffs the takedown attempt from Kiptanui. Kiptanui gets slowly back to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
