Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leonardo Laiola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaius Arabi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laiola kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Roots Bloody Roots. Arabi has chosen Genesis - Justice as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Arabi shoots in looking for a takedown but Laiola manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Arabi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Laiola lunges at Arabi with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Arabi's hand.
Laiola lands with a good body shot.
Arabi shoots for a double leg takedown but Laiola sprawls well. He's pushed Arabi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Leonardo Laiola is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Laiola tries to bum rush Arabi with a series of wild strikes but Arabi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Arabi jabs Laiola to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Laiola has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Arabi is working away from the top position though.

Arabi uses his free foot to push down on Laiola's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Laiola.
Arabi goes for an armbar but Laiola turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Laiola.

Arabi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Laiola doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Laiola manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Arabi is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Laiola rolls with it to try and escape but Arabi cranks on the arm and Laiola is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Gaius Arabi!

As Gaius Arabi got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: This is what I've worked for and now I'll give my best to remain the OG lightweight champion. I'm sure that no one will defeat me, because this is a new era. it is the genesis of my era and I'm here to make history by beating Manella's record. You can count on that! WORLD CHAMPION, MY FRIENDS!'.
