PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fair Child (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phillip Barron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barron is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Dizzee Rascal - Bonkers. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barron throws a hook but Child blocks it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Child.
Child lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barron circles away quickly and effectively.

Barron moves into range and clinches up with Child.
Barron pushes Child back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Child blocks an uppercut.
Barron is looking to control Child's arms but Child gets an underhook and turns him. Now Barron has his back to the cage.
Barron scores with a nice hook to the head.

It looks like Fair Child has been cut.
Barron scores with a hook to the body.
Child misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Barron.
Barron takes a knee to the side of the body.
Barron lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Barron pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Barron cracks Child with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Child falls off balance throwing a combination

Barron walks into a stiff left hand from Child.
Child waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Barron.
Child connects with the punch.
Child lands a nice looking body kick.
Barron looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Child is fending him off so far but Barron persists. Nope, Child circles away and we're back to standing.
Barron misses the jab.

Barron closes the distance and clinches.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Child lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Barron.
Barron swings wildly with an uppercut but Child uses good head movement to avoid it.
Barron blocks an elbow strike.
Barron lands with a short shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Child scores with a nice hook to the head.
Barron tries to stall but Child uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Barron using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Child has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Child misses with the head strike.
Child working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Child lands with a left to the head.

Child tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Barron avoids it.
Barron misses with a body punch.
Child tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Child lands an elbow inside that Barron shrugs off.

It looks like Phillip Barron has been cut.

Barron goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Barron is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Barron stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Child.
Child lands a right hook to the body.
Fair Child seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Barron throws the left hand but Child avoids the punch easily.

Child clinches.
Barron wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Barron misses with a knee strike.
Child is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Barron is defending well for now.

Child manages to break the clinch.
Child swings for the body but Barron moves out of range.
Child throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Barron stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Child dodges the punch combination from Barron.
Barron gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Child.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Child lands a front kick.
Barron takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Barron throws a lazy right hand but Child sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Barron throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Child misses with a low kick.
Barron tries for a takedown but Child circles away easily
and Child counters with a slapping leg kick.
Child swings for the body but Barron moves out of range.
Nice shot lands for Child.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nice sprawl there from Barron as Child shoots in.
Child lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Child throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Barron stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fair Child dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Child scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Child throws out a powerful jab.
Child dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Barron misses with a looping left.
Child scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Barron is rocked!
Child lands a right hook to the body.
Barron is still on wobbly legs! Can Child finish him?
Barron fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Child lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Child lands with an uppercut that bounces Barron off the cage and back into range.
and Child counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Barron! He's just covering up as Child starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fair Child!
