And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melendez slaps away a takedown attempt from St Preux, before circling back to the center of the mat.
St Preux misses with a takedown attempt - Melendez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Melendez drives through with a takedown into guard.
Melendez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of St Preux is proving hard to escape from.

Melendez stands up and waves to St Preux to follow him.
St Preux fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Melendez avoids it really well and circles away.
Gilbert Melendez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tussaint St Preux.
St Preux doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Melendez counters with a one-two to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
St Preux slips a jab and a cross from Melendez.
Melendez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Melendez wants it to stay on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Melendez scores with a jab to the body.

Melendez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming St Preux to the mat! St Preux manages to get full guard.
St Preux is pulling down on Melendez's head. It's preventing any offense from Melendez, at least for the moment.
Melendez wants to stand and escape but instead St Preux has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Melendez pushes St Preux off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
St Preux throws a right and a left that both miss.

Melendez looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Melendez gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Horrible takedown by St Preux or perhaps it was just good defense by Melendez which made him look bad.
Melendez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but St Preux paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Melendez lands a left and a right that send St Preux crashing to the mat, dazed. Melendez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

St Preux is rocked!

It looks like Tussaint St Preux has been cut.
Melendez steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! St Preux is out on his feet! Melendez sets himself and nearly takes St Preux's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
