Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gunner King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jarez De Ertu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King comes to the ring accompanied by Raise Hell. Jarez De Ertu is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gunner King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jarez De Ertu!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

King closes the distance and clinches.
King tries to throw a body punch but De Ertu avoids it by throwing King back against the ropes.

De Ertu turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
De Ertu throws a strike aimed at the side of King's head but King avoids it well.
De Ertu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
King wants to control but De Ertu postures up.

De Ertu decides to stand up, so the ref orders King to his feet.
King throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

King shoots in and gets a takedown into De Ertu's guard.
King trying to control the position from guard on top but De Ertu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
This has been an exciting period of action!
King might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.
De Ertu looking for a sweep. Not yet De Ertu, not yet.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
De Ertu working a defensive guard here.
King looking to pass the guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gunner King.
King blocks a head kick by De Ertu.
King dodges the punch combination from De Ertu.
De Ertu keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
King misses the shot to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
King has De Ertu pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. De Ertu manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
King wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but De Ertu has him pressed against the ropes.
King goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

De Ertu jumps guard.
King has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
King trying to control but De Ertu is working from the bottom.
De Ertu wants to stand and escape but King is having none of it.

De Ertu keeping full guard, as King tries to pass.
King slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

The referee asks King politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. King prefers to stall for the moment though.
De Ertu manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
King wants to control but De Ertu is keeping busy.

De Ertu is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed King to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

King had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. De Ertu defends it easily.

De Ertu looking to pass the guard.
King looking for a sweep. Not yet King, not yet.
King thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King is trying to control the position but De Ertu postures up.
De Ertu has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of King is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gunner King dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



De Ertu closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into King's guard.
De Ertu postures up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
De Ertu tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.
King controls De Ertu momentarily but De Ertu frees himself.
De Ertu in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
De Ertu trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

King instigates a clinch.
King is looking to control De Ertu's arms but De Ertu gets an underhook and turns him. Now King has his back to the ropes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King tries a body shot but De Ertu blocks it.
King misses with a body punch.

De Ertu jumps guard.
King throwing strikes from guard but De Ertu blocks nicely.
King is pushing down on De Ertu's leg trying to pass to half guard. De Ertu is fighting to maintain full guard but King has managed to sneak the leg through.
De Ertu has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. King is working away from the top position though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if De Ertu can do anything to dispel that myth.
King seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but De Ertu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
King is controlling the pace.
De Ertu scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but King manages to mount him!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
De Ertu tries to improve his position but instead King has taken his back!
King is landing with strikes from the back.

King is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
De Ertu is in bad spot here.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards King.
King is punishing De Ertu with strikes - can he finish him?!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King is looking to control De Ertu but De Ertu is wriggling around and keeping busy.
King is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
De Ertu grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

De Ertu is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
De Ertu just trying to survive but King is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

De Ertu won't enjoy being in this position. King looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - De Ertu is tapping - it's over boys! King picks up the submission victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gunner King!
Gunner King gave a mention to Elite Fighter© w/$10-$35 Clothing and 90% LAUNDRY! in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
