PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shane Rory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tank King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shane Rory!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tank King!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King tried to score with a low kick but Rory checks it.
King fakes the leg kick and cracks Rory in the body.
King throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rory stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Rory gets cracked with a nice right hand there by King.

It looks like Shane Rory has been cut.
Rory connects with an inside leg kick.
King comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
King dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rory. That did some damage!
King moves out of range of the body kick from Rory.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
King blocks a head kick by Rory.
King ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
King throws a leg kick that is checked
and Rory counters with a head kick.
King stuns Rory with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Rory takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
King wants to slow Rory down by chopping away at his legs.
Some wild striking there from Rory.
Rory lets loose with a powerful body kick. King will feel that in the morning.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King throws a low kick, looking for Rory's leg but Rory calmly moves out of range.
King jabs at Rory's body.
Rory is breathing heavily.
King lands a really nice looking cross but Rory seems unphased.
Rory takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
King lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rory's sensitive parts.
A shot to the liver by King. Beautiful body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

King fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rory, pushing him back against the ropes.
Rory tries to land a knee to the head but King blocks with his arms.
King stalling in the clinch.
Nice body punch from King.
King lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.

King escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
King attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
King is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Rory rather than just go for the knockout.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

King closes the distance and clinches.
Good body shot from King.
King lands a shoulder strike.
King pushes Rory back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King scores with a shot to the body.
King steps in with a hook that catches Rory right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! King follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Rory looks absolutely devastated.
