The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mughal tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nettles swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Mughal moves into range and clinches up with Nettles.

Nettles pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Mughal fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nettles, pushing him back against the cage.
Mughal tries to work over Nettles's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Mughal gets underhooks to prevent Nettles's takedown attempt.
Mughal is struggling to control the position.
Mughal scores with a shoulder strike.
Nettles stalling.
Mughal swings away with an uppercut that misses.
A head punch on the inside from Mughal fails to land.
Mughal is trying to break the clinch but Nettles is controlling him.
Nettles misses with a punch to the body.
Mughal throws a punch but it's blocked by Nettles.
Mughal prevents a takedown attempt there.
Nettles tries to pull guard but Mughal forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Javed Iqbal Mughal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Nettles.

Nettles takes a shot to the head.
Mughal fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Nettles gets control of Mughal's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nettles will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Mughal has a couple of punches blocked by Nettles.
Mughal lands a nice uppercut.

Mughal breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nettles tries to clinch up but Mughal circles away and keeps his distance.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mughal darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Mughal forces Nettles back against the cage and clinches.
Mughal prevents Nettles from breaking the clinch.
Mughal lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Mughal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mughal has closed the distance and engaged Nettles in a clinch.

Nettles breaks from the clinch.
Mughal misses with a lunging right hand
letting Nettles counter with a right hand.
Nettles shoots for a double leg takedown but Mughal sprawls well. He's pushed Nettles's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mughal lands a head shot.
Nettles tries to close the distance and clinch but Mughal swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nettles shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mughal sprawls well. Mughal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nettles gets slowly back to his feet.
Nettles looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nettles misses with a low kick.

Nettles throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mughal's waist but Mughal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nettles off to one side.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nettles takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Mughal bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Nettles's head backwards.
Good standup being displayed there by Mughal as he connects with a hook.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Mughal closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Nettles! Mughal dives in looking to finish! Nettles is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
