The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martigan stuffs the takedown attempt from Dowe. Dowe gets slowly back to his feet.

Dowe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Martigan's waist but Martigan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dowe off to one side.
Martigan throws a looping overhand right but Dowe ducks down to avoid it.
Dowe just misses with a punch to the body.
William Dowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martigan lands a nice hook to Dowe's body. Dowe takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Dowe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Martigan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Martigan lands a left and a right that send Dowe crashing to the mat, dazed. Martigan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Madison Martigan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Dowe scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Martigan is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Dowe lets go of the hold and Martigan can pop his arm back in it's socket.
