Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Fry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazushi Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kazushi Sakuraba is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luigi Fry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazushi Sakuraba!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba misses with a double jab.

Fry tries for a takedown but Sakuraba circles away easily
and Sakuraba counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sakuraba connects with a high kick.

Fry throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sakuraba tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Fry is in Sakuraba's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Fry wants to control from the top but Sakuraba keeps moving.

Sakuraba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fry sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sakuraba's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We're going to have a standup here because Luigi Fry wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Fry fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sakuraba avoids it really well and circles away.

Kazushi Sakuraba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kazushi Sakuraba showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well Sakuraba has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
