Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bryan Ewer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicky Newdles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bryan Ewer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nicky Newdles!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Newdles. That's going to slow Ewer down.

Ewer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Newdles looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Ewer working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Ewer creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Newdles sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Ewer in side control, throwing shots but Newdles defends.

Ewer is trying to get an arm triangle but Newdles is defending well.
Ewer happy to just control the position for now.

Ewer decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Newdles swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ewer stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Newdles.

Ewer gets tackled into the cage by Newdles. Newdles maintains the clinch.
Newdles tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Ewer avoids it.
Newdles trying to control the position but instead, Ewer has worked for underhooks and has pushed Newdles into the cage.
Newdles displaying some good clinch control by pressing Ewer up against the cage.
Ewer lands a damaging elbow.
Newdles trying to land knees to the body.
Ewer dodges an elbow strike from Newdles.

Newdles pulls Ewer into guard.

Newdles throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Ewer working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Newdles really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ewer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ewer wants to control from the top but Newdles keeps moving.

Ewer stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Newdles darts in and clinches Ewer up against the cage.
Newdles is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ewer is defending well for now.
Ewer goes for a takedown in the clinch but Newdles prevents it.
Newdles looking to stall.
Newdles throws an elbow that misses.

Newdles is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Ewer is keeping busy.
Newdles is trying to slow the pace down but that's a couple of times in a row that he's tried to get underhooks and Ewer has denied him.
Ewer manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Newdles stops a takedown attempt from Ewer.
Ewer wants to take the fight to the mat but Newdles manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Newdles has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ewer uses from the top position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Newdles is working an open guard so Ewer takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Ewer tries a head kick but it misses.

That was a close round but I would say that Bryan Ewer will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ewer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Ewer shoots in and drives through. Newdles sprawls well.

Newdles connects with a solid leg kick.

Newdles is trying to hold Ewer in close to prevent damage but Ewer has managed to pass into half guard.

Ewer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Newdles is just riding it out for now. Ewer eventually gives up the hold.

Ewer decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Newdles stuffs the takedown attempt from Ewer. Ewer gets slowly back to his feet.
Newdles cracks the inside of Ewer's front leg.
Newdles misses with the body kick

and Ewer counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Newdles is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Ewer stands up and waves to Newdles to follow him.
Newdles cracks the inside of Ewer's front leg.

Newdles throws a nice outside leg kick.

and Ewer counters with a left to the body.

Newdles rushes Ewer and presses him up against the cage.
Newdles pushes off an throws an elbow but Ewer leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Newdles looking to sit in guard and control but Ewer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ewer gets to his feet - Newdles follows without any prompting.
Newdles throws a body punch but Ewer moves out of range.
Newdles misses with a leg kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Newdles throws a leg kick that misses.

Newdles clinches up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Newdles tries to land knees in the clinch but Ewer avoids the damage to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Nicky Newdles will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Newdles throws a body punch but Ewer moves out of range.

Newdles closes the distance and clinches.
Newdles taking a breather.
Ewer jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Newdles walks away with a smile on his face. Ewer gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ewer blocks the body kick.
Ewer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Newdles tries to avoid it but Ewer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Newdles to the ground. Newdles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Newdles lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ewer throws a nice looking combination but Newdles bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nicky Newdles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ewer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bryan Ewer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ewer gets a clinch.

With the fighters up against the cage, Newdles throws an elbow but misses.
Ewer blocks an elbow strike from Newdles.

Newdles manages to pull guard.
Newdles keeping moving, preventing Ewer from controlling successfully.

Newdles working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Ewer has passed into half guard!
Newdles is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ewer seems to be looking for submissions.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ewer blocks the strikes from Newdles.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Newdles is trying to stand back up but Ewer is controlling him

Newdles looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Ewer not doing much here.

Ewer escapes and gets back to his feet.
Newdles thows a body shot but no joy.
Ewer shoots in but no luck this time.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ewer crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Newdles - the referee stops the clock and Ewer gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Newdles. Ewer manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
That kick from Newdles tenderised Ewer's leg. Ewer is trying to keep his angry face on.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A slapping body kick lands there for Ewer.
Ewer avoids the body shot from Newdles.

Ewer slips a straight right by Newdles.

Newdles moves into the clinch.
Ewer avoiding damage as Newdles throws knees to the body.
Newdles struggles to land a body shot inside as Ewer controls his hands.
Newdles trying to land knees to the body.

Ewer manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Newdles pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ewer is keeping the position for now.
Newdles wants to control from the top but Ewer keeps moving.
Ewer working a defensive guard here.

Newdles trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Ewer manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Newdles is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Newdles utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Newdles escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ewer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ewer advances to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Nicky Newdles.
I think Newdles has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
