PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dustin Tin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Carbone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dustin Tin has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dustin Tin seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dustin Tin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dick Carbone!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carbone drops Tin with a nice combination! Carbone dives into Tin's guard, looking to finish!


It looks like Dustin Tin has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Carbone drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carbone jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Carbone trying to control but Tin is working from the bottom.

Carbone drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Tin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Carbone has Tin in his guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Carbone looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Carbone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Carbone is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Tin is working Carbone over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Tin forces his way into half guard.
Carbone gets back to full guard.
Tin pushing down on Carbone's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Carbone tries to kick Tin off but Tin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Carbone moves into full guard.
Tin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carbone on the ground.
Tin with a nice head shot there.
Tin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tin stands up over Carbone, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Tin postures up and lands a big shot to Carbone's brow.

Carbone working for a triangle but Tin defends it easily.
Carbone looks gassed!

Tin distracts Carbone with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Tin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carbone's head.
Tin with a nice head shot there.
Tin is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Tin chips away with some ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tin's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Carbone has momentary wrist control but Tin slips an elbow through the middle.
Tin is in close to Carbone's body, working some short punches and elbows.


Carbone is rocked!

Carbone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tin looking to pass the guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tin postures up and lands a big shot to Carbone's brow.

Carbone looking for a guillotine here but Tin defends easily.
Tin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Tin landing with the ground and pound.

Carbone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Tin tries to free his leg and advance position but Carbone is retaining full guard.

Carbone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tin connects with a couple of short punches.
Tin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Carbone's head.
Tin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Tin working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Carbone is still in real trouble! Can Tin finish him?
Tin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carbone's head.

Carbone seems to have recovered his senses.

Carbone isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tin stacks Carbone on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tin!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tin cracks Carbone with a big right hand but Carbone just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Tin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Tin has taken the fight to the clinch.

Tin manages to break the clinch.
Carbone delivers a nice body kick.
Tin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tin loads up on a big right hand but Carbone slips the punch.
Tin tries a head kick but it misses.
Carbone misses with a looping right.
Tin looks to throw the jab but Carbone is out of range.
Carbone dives in and grabs Tin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tin pushes down on Carbone's head and hops out.
Dick Carbone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carbone tries a head kick but it misses.
Tin keeps the fight on the outside.

Carbone drives through and clinches with Tin against the cage.

Tin breaks from the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carbone throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dustin Tin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Carbone is breathing heavily.
A nice inside leg kick there by Carbone. That's going to slow Tin down.

Tin clinches up against the cage.
Tin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Carbone's efforts to push away.

Tin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Tin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dustin Tin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Carbone is trying to control Tin's posture but Tin avoids it.
Tin lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Tin landing strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tin works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Tin looks up at the clock and then as Carbone takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tin smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Carbone manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Carbone tries to roll over but Tin keeps him under control.

Tin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Carbone regains full guard. Nicely done.

Carbone is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Tin defends well.

Tin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carbone with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tin looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Tin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carbone with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tin slips a nice elbow through Carbone's hands, connecting with Carbone's forehead.

Carbone tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Tin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Carbone defends it well.
Tin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Carbone is trying to maintain the position but Tin is very close to passing his half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Tin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Carbone shoots in looking for a takedown but Tin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carbone's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Carbone fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tin moves out of range as Carbone throws a body kick.
Nice sprawl there from Tin as Carbone shoots in.

Carbone thows a left - swing and a miss!
Carbone takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Tin closes the distance and pushes Carbone back into the cage.

Tin wants the takedown. Carbone is fighting it off but Tin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Carbone's guard against the cage.

Tin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Carbone will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Carbone thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Carbone working for a triangle but Tin defends it easily.
Tin lands a couple of elbows.
Tin landing some decent shots from guard.
Carbone is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Tin manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Carbone fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Dustin Tin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dick Carbone.

Tin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carbone shoots in for a double leg but Tin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Sloppy strikes from Tin. Those never looked like landing.

Tin takes the fight into the clinch.
Carbone tries a knee to the head but Tin blocks it.
Carbone blocks the elbow strike.
Carbone is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Carbone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Tin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Carbone tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Carbone tries to pull guard but Tin holds him up against the cage and eventually Carbone drops back down to his feet.

Tin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Carbone takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


It looks like Dick Carbone has been cut.
Tin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carbone throws out the jab.

Tin drives through and clinches with Carbone against the cage.
Tin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Carbone pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Carbone tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Tin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tin tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Tin circles away from the clinch attempt.
Carbone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Carbone clinches.
Carbone throws a punch but it's blocked by Tin.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Tin tightens his grip and picks Carbone up, before dumping him to the ground. Carbone manages to land in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tin throws a big elbow that misses.
Dick Carbone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Carbone pushes Tin off and scrambles back to his feet.
Carbone tries to clinch there but Tin circles away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dustin Tin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
