Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Chad Campbell and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia throws a low kick, looking for Rose's leg but Rose calmly moves out of range.
Garcia lands a body shot.

Rose gets the takedown into side control.

Rose decides to stand back up. Rose steps back and let's Garcia get back to his feet.
A punch lands to the side of Rose 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Garcia does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Garcia lands an overhand right.
Garcia will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Garcia comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Garcia lands a two punch combo.

Rose is rocked!

It looks like Alexander Rose has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Oh Rose is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Rose swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Garcia is now in Rose's guard. A big mistake from Rose there, giving up the dominant position!

Rose working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Garcia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Garcia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rose has his foot on Garcia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Garcia works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Garcia wants to get up but he can't break Rose's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rose takes Garcia's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Garcia is in trouble.

Garcia throws a nice looking combination but Rose bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Rose wants the takedown. Garcia is fighting it off but Rose persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Garcia's guard against the cage.

Rose drops back, looking for a kneebar! Garcia looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Garcia looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Garcia!
Rose tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Garcia wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

You can see the frustration on Rose's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Garcia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rose keeps working.
Rose tries to bench press Garcia off him but Garcia keeps the position.
