Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Meirelles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damien OQuinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OQuinn with a lazy takedown attempt
and Meirelles counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
OQuinn lands a nice hook to Meirelles's body. Meirelles takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Meirelles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. OQuinn manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

OQuinn has Meirelles pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. OQuinn pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Meirelles tumbling to the mat - OQuinn dives into Meirelles's guard.
