Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Misual Lalpa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Jokinen Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lalpa's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Seek n Destroy. Misual Lalpa has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Misual Lalpa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thomas Jokinen Jr!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, William Gold and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jokinen Jr closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lalpa quickly recovers to half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Jokinen Jr seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Lalpa has recovered full guard.
Lalpa pulls Jokinen Jr in close to his closed guard and prevents Jokinen Jr from doing any damage or advancing position.
Lalpa manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Lalpa unloads with some shots from mount but Jokinen Jr bucks and avoids them well.

Lalpa moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Jokinen Jr has worked his arm free - good work by Jokinen Jr!

Lalpa decides to stand back up. Lalpa steps back and let's Jokinen Jr get back to his feet.

and Jokinen Jr counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lalpa!

Jokinen Jr should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Misual Lalpa will probably get the nod.

Jokinen Jr moves into the clinch.

Jokinen Jr turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Lalpa is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jokinen Jr's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Lalpa wants to get back to full guard.
Lalpa wants to get back to his feet.

Misual Lalpa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jokinen Jr stalling away here and it's allowed Lalpa to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lalpa is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Jokinen Jr can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Lalpa stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Lalpa shoots in and bounces Jokinen Jr off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Lalpa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Misual Lalpa dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Lalpa shoots for a takedown but Jokinen Jr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nice takedown defense from Jokinen Jr. No joy for Lalpa on that attempt.
Lalpa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jokinen Jr tries to avoid it but Lalpa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jokinen Jr to the ground. Jokinen Jr escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Misual Lalpa. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lalpa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jokinen Jr's guard.
Lalpa wants to pass the guard but Jokinen Jr is keeping the position.
Lalpa looking to sit in guard and control but Jokinen Jr gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jokinen Jr has gone for a leg lock! Lalpa slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jokinen Jr's guard.

Lalpa gets to his feet. Jokinen Jr looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Lalpa tries to close the distance and clinch but Jokinen Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Misual Lalpa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lalpa throws a right hand that Jokinen Jr ducks under and follows up with a left that Jokinen Jr also avoids with ease.
Lalpa shoots in and drives through. Jokinen Jr sprawls well.

Jokinen Jr is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jokinen Jr is looking for a kimura but Lalpa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jokinen Jr to get the leverage.

Lalpa is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Jokinen Jr got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lalpa has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jokinen Jr has managed to get both his arms back between Lalpa's legs - danger averted.

Misual Lalpa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jokinen Jr is in close to Lalpa's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Lalpa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lalpa has his hands on Jokinen Jr's head, controlling the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Misual Lalpa.
Lalpa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Lalpa throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jokinen Jr tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lalpa paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lalpa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lalpa lands in his opponent's guard.
Jokinen Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lalpa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Misual Lalpa tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
