The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries for a takedown but Jennings circles away easily

and Jennings counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Silva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jennings gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jennings avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Jennings gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Silva stuffs the takedown.
Jennings misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Jennings manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jennings throws a head kick that misses.

Jennings forces Silva back against the cage and clinches.

Jennings's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Jennings is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Jennings is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Silva locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Jennings is forced to tap!

Attonitto Silva decided to call for a title shot in his post fight interview, which was very strange given the fact this fight was for a title and he's already the champion. I guess that's what getting punched in the head does for you.
