Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Parry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bastard has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Big Bastard looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parry tries to clinch up.
Bastard is breathing heavily.
Bastard tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Parry manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bastard is defended easily by Parry.
Bastard tries to sprawl but Parry drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Parry tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Bastard.
Parry is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bastard is just riding it out for now. Parry eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Parry shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bastard as he jumps to the side.
Parry wants to clinch up but Bastard keeps it at a distance.
Bastard moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Parry throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bastard.
Bastard tries to sprawl but Parry drives through with a takedown into half guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Parry fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bastard sprawls well initially but Parry persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Bastard flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Parry is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bastard sees it coming and defends easily.
Bastard pushes Parry off looking to stand but Parry dives back in and keeps control.
Bastard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bastard is not content to let Parry control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Gary Parry hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Parry tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bastard swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bastard looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Bastard stuffs the takedown attempt from Parry. Parry gets slowly back to his feet.

Big Bastard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Parry.
Bastard throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Parry on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Bastard rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Parry moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Parry tries to pull guard but Bastard holds him up against the cage and eventually Parry drops back down to his feet.

Parry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bastard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bastard takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bastard thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Parry tries to roll over but Bastard keeps him under control.
Gary Parry has got the better of the ground game so far.
Parry is not content to let Bastard control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Parry can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bastard is looking to take a break and control but Parry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bastard is putting a hurting on Parry here, landing some big shots from side control.

Parry parries the strikes from Bastard easily there. Bastard is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Parry to escape.
Bastard tries to score with some ground and pound. Parry controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Parry takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Bastard is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Parry is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The strikes coming from Bastard are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Parry is looking to regain half guard here but Bastard keeps moving and retains side control.
Parry on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Bastard lands an elbow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Bastard has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
