Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Edwin Sagat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daz Bonez!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Shirou Masuda and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonez throws a push kick but Sagat slaps the foot to one side.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Bonez.
Sagat stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bonez.
Bonez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sagat has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sagat is breathing heavily.
Bonez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sagat on the wrong end of a nice hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sagat has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Bonez.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bonez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bonez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Bonez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Sagat takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Bonez throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Sagat is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Daz Bonez!
