Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodney Couture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Nieminen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Couture might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Thickfreakness - The Black Keys. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Couture closes the distance and lands a one-two.
The fighters circling - Couture throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Couture misses with an uppercut.

Nieminen looking to score a takedown here. Couture is defending well but Nieminen drives through and ends up in Couture's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Nieminen throwing strikes but missing.
Nieminen wants to control from the top but Couture keeps moving.
Nieminen stops Couture from standing up.
Couture keeping full guard, as Nieminen tries to pass.
Nieminen won't allow Couture to get back to his feet.

Couture on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Couture tries to get out of the position.

Couture wants to stand and escape but Nieminen is having none of it.

Nieminen wants to control the pace but Couture is squirming around nicely.

It looks like Rodney Couture has been cut.
Nieminen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Couture is looking to escape.
Nieminen throws some wild stikes that Couture manages to avoid easily.
Nieminen is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Nieminen cracks Couture with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nieminen has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Couture's face.
Couture wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Nieminen looking to control but Couture is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Nieminen postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Couture looks a forlorn figure.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
