Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Sauers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Moore!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moore throws a low kick, looking for Sauers's leg but Sauers calmly moves out of range.
A punch lands to the side of Sauers 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Sauers closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sauers lands in his opponent's guard.
Moore wants to stand but Sauers is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sauers trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Sauers won't allow Moore to get back to his feet.
Sauers tries to free his leg and advance position but Moore is retaining full guard.
Moore is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Sauers is looking for a sweep. Moore is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moore gets to mount! Sauers was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Moore trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Moore tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Moore can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sauers is looking to escape.
Sauers is desperately trying to improve his position but Moore has a good base and remains in mount.

Moore might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sauers kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Moore is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sauers tries to lock up and control but Moore gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Sauers is trying to escape the mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Gary Moore will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Moore stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Moore stuffs the takedown attempt from Sauers. Sauers gets slowly back to his feet.
Moore throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Moore is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Sauers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Sauers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Moore is looking for a sweep.
Moore pushes Sauers away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sauers gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Sauers tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Moore avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sauers.

Moore is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Moore is trying to get back to half guard.
Moore gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sauers is just content to waste time from the top position. Moore takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Sauers throws a big right hand that misses.
Sauers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Moore is looking to stand up but Sauers isn't so interested in that idea.

Sauers wants to control from the top but Moore keeps moving.
Moore wants to stand but Sauers is controlling the position.

Sauers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Shane Sauers wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Moore leaves Sauers with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Sauers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sauers swings widly with a right hand
and Moore counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Sauers thinking.
Moore throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Sauers shoots in and gets a takedown into Moore's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Sauers dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Sauers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Moore avoids it really well and circles away.

Sauers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Sauers gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Moore lunges at Sauers with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Sauers's hand.


It looks like Shane Sauers has been cut.
Gary Moore is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sauers keeps the fight on the outside.
Moore tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sauers paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Moore connects with a nice looking jab.
Moore tries to clinch up.
Moore avoids the body shot from Sauers.
Moore scores with a one two! Sauers had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sauers takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Sauers throws a looping overhand right but Moore ducks down to avoid it.
Sauers fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sauers needs to keep his hands up - Moore had a free shot at his head there.

Sauers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Moore tries to avoid it but Sauers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Moore to the ground. Moore escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Moore misses with a few strikes there.
Sauers throws a low kick but it's checked well by Moore.
Sauers moves out of range of the leg kick from Moore.

Sauers tries to score with a low kick but Moore moves his leg out of the way.
Moore tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sauers swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Moore takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Moore slips a jab and a cross from Sauers.
Sauers avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Sauers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Moore to the ground. Sauers is now in Moore's guard.
Sauers trying to control but Moore is working from the bottom.
Sauers stands up over Moore, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Moore looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sauers is one step ahead there.
Sauers controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Moore wants to stand and escape but Sauers is having none of it.

Sauers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Moore swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Shane Sauers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Moore being controlled here, momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Moore is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

I would just about give that final round to Gary Moore.
I think Moore has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
