The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Springer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Doon throws a hook but Springer blocks it.
Springer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Springer tries a head kick but it misses.
Springer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Doon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jerry Springer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Springer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Doon moves away from the strike by Springer.

Doon tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Springer was well out of range. Poor timing from Doon.
Springer fails to land with a series of punches.

Springer moves out of range as Doon throws a body kick.
Doon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Doon throws a hook to the side of Springer's head but Springer sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Springer connects with a crisp jab.

Doon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Doon looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Doon connects with a nice short shot to Springer's temple.
Doon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Springer tries to get to full guard but Doon has control of the leg.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Doon is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Springer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Doon is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Springer is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Doon scores with a couple of nice shots.
Doon is taking a breather. Springer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Springer has hold of Doon's hands but Doon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Doon is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Doon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Doon scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Doon is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Springer can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

A big strike lands for Doon! That's really hurt Springer and he's turned his back - Doon keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Doon jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
