Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kees Knoflook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Elite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kees Knoflook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, The Elite!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elite avoids a kick to the body.

Elite darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Elite is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Elite working Knoflook over with strikes.
Elite is keen to just control but Knoflook is a slippery customer.
Elite wants to free his trapped foot but Knoflook is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Knoflook is trying to get back to full guard.
Elite missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Elite not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Knoflook is trying to stand up here but Elite is controlling him well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Elite in particular looking to stall.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Knoflook is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Elite throwing shots but Knoflook is blocking nicely.
Elite takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Elite is trying to control. Knoflook wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up. The Elite was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Elite shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Knoflook but Knoflook pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Knoflook scores with a head kick.
Knoflook lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Knoflook misses with a head kick.

Elite closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Knoflook's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Elite wants to pass the guard but Knoflook is keeping the position.
Knoflook is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Knoflook has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Elite has passed into side control.
Elite is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Knoflook is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Elite is controlling him well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Knoflook is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Elite throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Knoflook is looking for a sweep.
Elite working away.
Elite connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Knoflook some visible discomfort.
Knoflook gets back to half guard.
Elite thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Elite landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Elite throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Elite is thwarting Knoflook's attempts to control the position.
Knoflook blocking the ground and pound attempt from Elite.
Knoflook is trying to control but can't.
Knoflook avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Elite.
Knoflook has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Elite is working away from the top position though.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kees Knoflook has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Elite avoids the body shot from Knoflook.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Knoflook connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Knoflook misses with a right hand
and Elite counters with a slapping leg kick.
Knoflook throws a lazy head kick

so Elite counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Elite dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Elite shoots in but Knoflook avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Knoflook.
Elite takes a jab right on the kisser.
Good exchange - Knoflook coming out on top.
Knoflook just misses with a punch to the body.
Elite blocks a head kick by Knoflook.
Knoflook bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Elite with a jab.
Knoflook throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Elite is defended easily by Knoflook.

Elite closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Knoflook to the mat! Knoflook manages to get full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Elite stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Knoflook has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Elite manages to get his head free but now Knoflook has transitioned to an armbar! Elite grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Knoflook! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Kees Knoflook!
Our winner, Kees Knoflook, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
