The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heartman fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Magnus sprawls well initially but Heartman persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Heartman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Magnus preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Magnus is trying to get back to full guard.
Heartman is keen to just control but Magnus is a slippery customer.
Heartman tries to pass the half guard into mount. Magnus knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Magnus is trying to control Heartman's posture. Heartman takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Magnus! Heartman is rotating here... this could be the end... Magnus is out! Heartman has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
