The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hirmuinen moves away from the strike by Gage.
Gage misses with a two punch combination.
Gage throws a body punch but Hirmuinen moves out of range.
Hirmuinen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hirmuinen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Stan Gage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gage throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hirmuinen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Gage throws out a loose jab but Hirmuinen uses good head movement to avoid it.

Gage cracks Hirmuinen with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Hirmuinen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

It looks like Hord Hirmuinen has been cut.

Hirmuinen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gage looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Hirmuinen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gage tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hirmuinen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
