PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Greg Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Sway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson comes to the cage accompanied by Paradise City-Gun's 'N' Roses. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Greg Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sammy Sway!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sway tries to clinch but Anderson is having none of it.
Anderson shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sway defends it nicely.
Sway tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Anderson is able to avoid easily.

Sway gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Anderson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Sway is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Anderson is aware though and is defending well.

Sway had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Anderson defends it easily.
Anderson throwing strikes but missing.
Anderson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sway swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sway isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Anderson stacks Sway on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Anderson!

Anderson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Sammy Sway is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Anderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sway avoids it really well and circles away.
Anderson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Sway sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Greg Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Anderson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Anderson cracks Sway with a solid left hand.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sway is on top in guard.
Sway trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sway forces his way into half guard.
Sway works his way into full mount!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Anderson stops Sway from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sway jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Anderson manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Sway is working to tighten is grip on Anderson's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Anderson has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Sway is really squeezing tight and eventually Anderson passes out! Sway breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
