The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santel shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Banks counters with a nice low kick that buckles Santel's knee momentarily.
Santel shoots in for a double leg but Banks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Santel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Banks but Banks pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ad Santel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Banks slaps away a takedown attempt from Santel, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Santel is trying hard to land a takedown here. Banks sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Santel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A slapping leg kick lands for Banks.

Banks lands a head kick that stumbles Santel and the fighters go to the mat.

It looks like Ad Santel has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Banks passes Santel's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Banks gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Banks connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Santel. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Santel is breathing heavily.
Santel shoots in looking for a takedown but Banks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Santel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Banks throws a front kick that sends Santel stumbling back into the cage.
Banks lets loose with a powerful body kick. Santel will feel that in the morning.
Banks scores with a head kick. Santel tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
That kick from Banks tenderised Santel's leg. Santel is trying to keep his angry face on.
Banks looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Banks! Santel is out on his feet! Banks rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Santel is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Santel is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
