Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Stifler !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Gracie!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stifler clinches.

Gracie pulls guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stifler throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Stifler throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Stifler controlling him for the moment.
Stifler trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie has Stifler pulled in close to control his posture.
Stifler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ryan Gracie.
Gracie lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gracie.
Stifler ducks right into an uppercut from Gracie.
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Gracie swings for the body but Stifler moves out of range.
Gracie misses with a hook.
Stifler dodges the punch combination from Gracie.
Gracie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stifler moves out of range as Gracie strikes.
Nice shot lands for Stifler .
Gracie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Gracie lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Steve Stifler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Gracie.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stifler is looking to pass into half guard but Gracie pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Gracie is in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stifler accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Stifler is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.
Stifler looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Gracie trying to control from half guard but Stifler is working away.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gracie is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stifler sees it coming and defends easily.
Stifler is looking to improve his position.
Stifler avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gracie.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ryan Gracie will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A combination from Gracie does no damage.

and Stifler counters with a shoot takedown. Gracie fights it but they end up in guard.
Gracie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Stifler postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Stifler throws an elbow that misses. Gracie uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stifler 's guard. Nice move by Gracie!

Stifler wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Gracie.

Stifler shoots for a double leg takedown but Gracie sprawls well. He's pushed Stifler 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gracie lands with a nice body kick.
Gracie connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

I've got Gracie winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
