The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durham is looking to clinch but Siracusa is avoiding it.

Siracusa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Durham tries to get to full guard but Siracusa has control of the leg.
Siracusa is looking to advance position but Durham won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Durham working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Siracusa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Siracusa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Durham is trying to control the position but Siracusa postures up.
