Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Father Earth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Purple Haired Shanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shanks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shanks connects with a leg kick. Earth looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Earth has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Shanks.
Earth avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Shanks slips under a jab from Earth.
Shanks misses with a body kick.
Shanks throws a head kick that misses.
Shanks misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Earth chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Shanks can pounce on him.

Earth shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Shanks napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that Father Earth will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Earth is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Shanks's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Shanks bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Purple Haired Shanks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Purple Haired Shanks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Earth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shanks pinned against the cage. Shanks gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Earth closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shanks quickly recovers to half guard.

Earth throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Shanks tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Earth is in Shanks's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

I would just about give that final round to Purple Haired Shanks.
