Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clinton Chaos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chris Sheppard!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheppard slips a jab and a cross from Chaos.
Chaos throws out a loose jab but Sheppard uses good head movement to avoid it.
A swing and a miss from Chaos.
Chaos throws a series of punches but Sheppard moves out of range.
Chaos throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sheppard closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sheppard lands in his opponent's guard.
Chaos trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Chaos is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sheppard stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chaos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sheppard works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chaos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sheppard is working away from the top position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sheppard is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Chaos has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sheppard looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Chaos is looking to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sheppard trying to control from half guard but Chaos is working away.
Chaos controlling the position for now.
Sheppard is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Chaos manages to get to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Chaos keeping moving, preventing Sheppard from controlling successfully.
Sheppard wants to pass the guard but Chaos is keeping the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Chaos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sheppard is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Sheppard dominated that round.
That's time! Chaos's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Chaos throws a right hand that Sheppard ducks under and follows up with a left that Sheppard also avoids with ease.
Sheppard avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Chaos connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Sheppard! He's out on his feet! Chaos rushes in and drops Sheppard with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
